This course examines theories of crime and criminality. It traces the historical lineage of the field of criminology, beginning with classical school perspectives, and continues with a survey of theoretical concepts, including positive school explanations, the Chicago School of sociology and criminology, as well as biological, social learning, neoclassical, and opportunity theories.
